All our Macintosh computers are now running the New Version of iLife. The improved programs allow you greater control over your projects.
The new iLife includes Garageband,which lets users create their own music tracks, using loops, or real instruments.
Fancy making a video diary? Why not ask at reception. We can provide you with the tools and the know how. Using iMovie, it’s easy to make a film project and create your own DVD too.
The furness at Etruria Industrial Museum
Following their recent trip to Etruria Industrial Museum, Weston Coyney Junior School, and Longton high CLC have been working together to produce a website about their visit. Lynne Cauley of The Museum, working with Tom Pinecoffin of the Stoke-on-Trent Museums service came up to assist Phil with the project.
Whilst on their trip the students took photographs and video footage to add to their website. Tom and Phil created a template for the students to work on and created a generic user area from where all the students could access photos and add text to to the template.
The class were broken down into groups, each to create a specific section of the site. By midday the site was looking splendid. All the groups had written content and added images using
Macromedia Dreamweaver, which is a complex web building tool.
Tom said that he was impressed that the students had learned such a complex tool in such a short time. Phil has created a CD with the website on and there is also a DVD of the trip held at Weston Coyney Junior School.
Phil is looking into Poser 3d modelling software for the creation of Website avatars, 3D art and Animation.
Poser 5 is the award-winning 3D character design tool for artists, illustrators and animators. Easily create 3D figures from ready-to-use human and animal models.
Poser adds realism, maps facial photos, grow and style dynamic hair, or add dynamic cloth that flows. Quickly output movies and images for use in any project.
CLC TV studio nears completion
The new TV Studio at Longton High CLC is nearing completion. Workers from Confetti Studio, Nottingham have been working long hours to transform CLC 8 into a state of the art Mini TV studio.
The flooring has been laid, the partition wall, door and screen window are in place. Now the engineers are adding the hardware and wiring the room. Watch this space for more news over the next 24 hours.
Working with members of the City Councils Fitness Education Team, Phil, our Media Technologist is putting together a 10 minute Video.
The video will show the correct techniques of basic gymnastic moves to be taught in Junior Schools.
Database driven websites
Phil Told CLC staff today that the new Website is storming ahead. The basic design is being worked on at the moment, after the back end was built last week.
Phil says ” I decided to use ASP to give the pages for Interactivity. This also allows Staff to update whole areas of the site without any Web design knowledge”.
